Learns to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications sketches, job orders, planning documents and engineering drawings. Selects tooling and materials compatible with the processing techniques identified in the work instructions. Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

Conduct all required inspections in accordance with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s approved data, any customer’s approved program data, and the policies and procedures contained in this Inspection Procedures Manual. Record the results of all inspections performed on the proper inspection forms used by the repair station in accordance with this Inspection Procedures Manual. Be thoroughly familiar with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, specifications, tolerances, limits, inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in their area of responsibility to determine the quality of the work performed and the airworthiness of the article. Maintain proficiency with various types of inspection aides used for the inspection of a particular item. Ensure current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limits, and procedures recommended by the manufacturer of the product undergoing inspection and other forms of applicable inspection information are available for reference. Other examples of inspection information would be FAA Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer’s bulletins, approved customer data, and Federal Aviation Regulations. Make final airworthiness determination prior to “Return of Service” on items they are authorized to inspect for any article maintained or altered by this repair station. Reject any work or parts that have not been properly maintained or altered in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s approved data, customer approved data and the policies and procedures contained within this manual. Support the company Safety Program

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Inspector or Structural or Aircraft Technician, Heavy Commercial experience REQUIRED. Active A&P License required. Preferred 737, MD80 Experience. Must have own tools Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Shoes – When working in safety and/or industrial flight line environment, shoes must follow OSHA guidelines. Can wear tennis shoes (Black is preferred) Site Specific Uniforms – (All) – Standardized dress at our hangar locations include site specific color uniform pants (responsibility of the employee to provide), blue or white shirts. Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed. 5. Maintains inventory control of area equipment. Additional Functions: 1. Works with and assists other NDT Technicians as required. 2. Coordinates NDT inspection workload according to priorities, efficiency and cost effectiveness. 3. Provides technical assistance to subordinate level NDT technicians. 4. Performs process control on area inspection equipment. 6. Performs exposure room interlock safety checks, establishes radiation safety barriers, zeros pocket dosimeters, operates radiation survey meters and completes applicable survey logs and forms. 7. Performs automated ultrasonic C-scan inspection of composite parts. 7_2. Must be available to work any shift. Perform other duties as assigned.
