Provide engineering support as required, including but not limited to, tooling, fabricating, machining, and testing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
TASKS-Performed with minimal supervision as necessary
1. Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements
2. Perform final assembly on experimental equipment and tire build-up for flight test designated aircraft
3. Modify flight test aircraft components per engineering requirements
4. Assist in working with production to build or assemble first and any designated aircraft and experimental/production equipment
5. Perform minor fabrication and modification of production aircraft parts in accordance with developmental and/or engineering specifications
6. Fabricate and modify experimental aircraft parts in accordance with experimental engineering specifications
7. Maintain records of changes, inspections and control tire history in tire shop and fabrication shop
8. Assist engineering with revising functional test procedures as required
9. Set-up fixtures to perform static tests, fatigue tests, pressure tests, bird strikes, and assemble aircraft sections for testing as required
10. Prepare aircraft test components and systems for testing
11. Perform nondestructive/destructive testing, including but not limited to, cycle tests and ultimate load tests
12. Assist with aircraft mock-up in accordance with various flight test configurations
13. May perform aircraft testing at offsite locations in support of other divisions and customers needs
14. Inspect, maintain, and/or repair ground support equipment as required
15. Assist with installation of experimental parts on various aircraft as required
16. Order parts and materials required for mock-up, assembly and installations per experimental engineering drawings
17. Fabricate and modify repair station detail parts and assemblies in support of defense/customer support aircraft.
18. Process and paint fabricated parts for experimental, repair station, and Learjet Production Certificate projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
1. Basic knowledge of aircraft systems
2. Working knowledge of blueprints
3. Working knowledge in fabrication of sheet metal and/or composite components and assemblies, aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings, sketches, advance designs, specifications and/or verbal instructions
4. Working knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals
5. Working knowledge of Test Preparation Systems
6. Working knowledge of manuals necessary to perform job, for example, Aircraft Maintenance manuals, Manufacturing manuals, equipment manuals, parts catalog and applicable FAA documents
7. Working knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures
8. Skills necessary to perform flat pattern lay outs
9. Skills necessary to use basic hand tools necessary to perform job
10. Skills necessary to measure using a variety of basic and physical measuring devices
11. Skills necessary to fabricate and/or assemble various detail parts and components
12. Skills necessary to apply sealing compounds
13. Skills necessary to troubleshoot aircraft test systems and repair aircraft test equipment discrepancies
14. Mechanical ability to use basic hand tools, including but not limited to, rivet gun, drill press, surface grinder, belt sander, sheet metal roller and 90/45 degree drills
15. Mechanical ability to use powered shop equipment tools, including but not limited to, shear, band saw and brake
16. Advanced sheet metal skills
17. Advanced composite skills
18. Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments
Requirements
Minimum Position Requirements
• 3-7 years aircraft fabrication and/or tooling or jig building experience
• Ability to read aircraft blueprints
• Working knowledge of drafting and lofting
Additional Desired Qualifications
• Airframe Certificate preferred
• Blueprint II Certificate preferred

Physical Demands:
1. Considerable amount of time spent operating motorized vehicles
Materials:
1. Continual use of adhesives, cleaners, fasteners, liquid coatings, lubricants, metals, office supplies, plastics, solvents, styrofoam and woods
2. Moderate use of alkalis, fuels and sealants
3. Rare use of acids
Tools:
1. Continual use of composite tools and equipment, including but not limited to, bench/fixed tools, conventional hand tools, eye protection, foot protection, keyboard equipment, office equipment, portable power tools, powered industrial trucks, brakepress and shear
2. Occasional use of ear protection, hand/arm protection, precision machining tools, protective clothing, protective head gear and respiratory protection
Working Conditions:
1. Continual amount of time working in general shop conditions and/or outdoors
2. Continual exposure to fluorescent lights, hot weather, cold weather, humid weather and wet weather
3. Continual exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high exposed places and working with explosives or flammables
4. Moderate exposure to non-weather related hot, wet and humid temperatures/conditions
5. Occasional exposure to very loud noise intensity levels
6. Occasional exposure to non-weather related cold temperatures
7. Occasional overtime may be required
8. Occasional overnight travel may be required
