Many of us have had the privilege of interacting with Josh Allen over the past year. From providing amazing job opportunities to making sure his contractors are taken care of, Josh has continuously shown us what a true commitment and hard work looks like. Today, we are ecstatic to bring you a more in depth view of who Josh is and what makes him the top performing recruiter at APA Services.

How long have you been with APA?  I have been with APA since July of 2021

What do you enjoy about your role as a recruiter?

I enjoy having great conversations with a wide variety of people!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Matching up a great person with a job that I know will be a fantastic opportunity for them and their families, and helping the younger generations get started in a manufacturing career where they could learn a trade!

What are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

The founder of APA of course! Danny McKee is a huge inspiration. He lived the contracting life and saw an opportunity to make it better for all the contractors out there and he took it! I always have the highest respect for the people who get out there and make things happen. Don’t talk about it, be about it!

Describe yourself in three words.

Driven, Organized, Friendly

If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be and why?

I would love to see more military veterans get into civilian aviation work. They have some of the best knowledge out there, and I think they are an asset in this industry.

Being the top performer, what would you say drives your success?

I’m pretty relentless, when I talk to someone whos looking for work, I don’t give up until I find them something that’s a great fit, fighting to find them the highest pay possible, and keeping in touch throughout the hiring process.

If you had to choose between pizza and tacos, which one to give up?

The hardest questions so far…I would have to give up tacos, even though they have their own day, I just cant pass up on good pizza.

What resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?

All the APA leadership is pretty awesome, coming from a finance background, I knew little about aviation maintenance when I took this role, but people like Tasha in Tulsa, Rachel and Keely in Fort Worth were huge resources explaining what each position does, different types of aircraft, and what our clients are looking for when they make hiring decisions. All that knowledge that was shared with me really set me up for success.

Your favorite place to eat in Tulsa? What’s the best thing on the menu?

See, if it would have been pizza or burritos, I might give up pizza because of Chimi’s in Tulsa. Carne Asada burrito is the best, and their orange queso has a bacon flavor which is fantastic.

How have you grown professionally while being part of APA?

I feel like my knowledge of the aviation industry has been a huge professional growth. I didn’t know the difference between a bucking bar and a rivet gun when I first started, now I feel like I could get a work order and know exactly what to do (physically doing it not so much though!)

Any additional details you would like your contractors to know about you?

I’m a big sports fan, so if you want to call and talk about how great the Chargers and Padres are, or need some fantasy football advice, I got you. I also post local Tulsa aviation jobs on my facebook page, just search Josh APA and friend me.
