All the way from Greensboro, NC… Andrea Ward, APA Service's amazing On-Site Coordinator! In her day to day, Andrea acts as a liaison between APA Services contractors at her site and APA! She works tirelessly for our contractors to ensure everything is squared away at her site and that everyone is happy. If there is ever a problem out there in Greensboro, Andrea is your girl! How long have you been with APA & what is your job position here?

1 Year 3 Months, On-Site Coordinator

Can you tell us a little more about the duties of being an on-site for one of APA’s clients?

As an on-site, I am everything from snack provider, to rule enforcer, and payroll corrector as well!! I am really the lesion for contractors here on-site, the go between, peace and deal completer, on APA Services behalf as well as the workers here.

What is your number one favorite thing about being an On-Site Coordinator?

Getting to talk with mechanics and ask questions about the work they are doing.

Tell us a little bit about Greensboro, NC!

Greensboro is right in the middle of the state you are just a few hours from the beach or the mountains year-round, great food, plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, not real extreme as far as weather can be concerned, and the cost of living has been one of the lower in the country.

What are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?

Honestly, just the work that these guys do!! Coming to work and being good at your job has such HUGE implications on so many travelers' lives.

Hardworking, Honest, Loyal

When you were a kid, what did you want to do when you grew up?

Honestly… I went to career day in school as a Hobo, still haven’t forgotten this dream, living on the rails with no responsibility or home. I know, I know, not a doctor or an astronaut!

What are some great local places to visit or eat out in Greensboro?

Yum Yum Hot dogs, First Carolina delicatessen, Ichi Sushi, Box Car arcade, Spare Time Bowling, Celebration Station, Coming Soon Top Golf!!

What's an interesting fact about you that others may not know?

I am the only one of four children to go to college… 2 of the 3 out earn me #4YearsAreaATrap #TradesRunTheWorld

What would you say drives your success?

Determination and a can-do attitude as well as an unwillingness to fail.

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

I want to live in another country, or at minimum a different state than the one I was born in. If only for a little while.

Okay - this is a serious one! What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Music, Hot sauce, Fishing line

If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be and why?

More exposure to kids at school age. If I would have known I would have taken up this trade, no one ever told me, and now we don't have enough up and coming mechanics anymore.

How have you grown professionally while being here at APA?

I have grown to learn that my speed to execution should sometimes be reduced in a contractor's world, being first in aviation often means someone will just change your mind. Slow down to speed up.

Finally, what is your favorite airplane and why?

The ones that are now decommissioned, on the ground, I love to see them just not with me in them.
