Fabricate, develop, build, sew, and cover aircraft soft goods through the knowledge and skills of aircraft upholstery via Dassault Falcon Jet standards while using 3D models, drawings, blueprints, IDEI drawings, and/or spec control prints following Dassault Quality standards. Soft goods include crew seats, passenger seats, divans, side ledges, headliners and other assorted interior soft goods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints, completion drawings, company standards, work instructions, 3D model information.
Perform proper maintenance practices in accordance to DFJ FPS, “F” standards and Quality standards, such as proper glue application, adhesive bonding, and hardware.
Correct handling and use of all required tools specific to the current job assignment.
Correct handling and use of all required chemicals and adhesives related to the current job assignment, including general knowledge and ability on retrieving data from the MSDS safety books.
Position will primarily have one area of focus: Seat Covering
Disassemble and reassemble vendor passenger seats and divans in accordance with the guidelines of the vendor component maintenance manuals, and other seat and divan vendors.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in Upholstery, Sewing, or related.
Able to align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics.
Must not be allergic to chemical, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers.
Basic computer skills.
Able to work in confined spaces and in unusual positions.
Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework.
Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level according to OSHA standards.
Preferred - Aircraft upholstery fabrication experience
Preferred - Ability to solve practical problems when needed.
Preferred - Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Preferred - Manufacturing, vocational, tech school training, and/or related college credits.
Preferred - Computer and/or software training or experience.
Preferred - Able to work from documentation such as MES, FPS, WI, blueprints, drawings, F-standards, preparation packages, etc.
Preferred - Courses in state or federal vocational technical upholstery programs
Miscellaneous
WORKING CONDITIONS: Factory/manufacturing environment subject to high noise levels, adhesive or chemical odors, dust, and normal climate control.

Seeking experienced Upholstery Techs in Bangor, Maine
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sewing seats, fitting foam, cutting/sewing leather, etc
The ability to read and use design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
Stripping, chemical cleaning, repair, and covering of flat panels, bulkheads, and seat panels
Work with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and various power tools
Cut and surge carpets
Layout and inspect leather hiders defects
Trace and cut out seat patterns
Installation of window panels, headliners, upper sidewalls, lower sidewalls, and baggage panels in aircraft
May sew and upholster covers using designs, engineering drawings, and aircraft specifications
Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvement techniques that increase safety, reduce costs, cycle time, and man-hours
Ensure protection of aircraft interiors in and outside the aircraft
Requirements
minimum of 3 years Aviation Upholstery experience.
Experience sewing leather.
Preference given to Regional, VIP, & Corporate experience

Under minimal supervision, learn the proper techniques to sew, foam, design and upholster high quality aircraft seats, trim, panels, and carpets for the completion of VIP aircraft.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare all upholstered surfaces for foam and covering using various hand tools according to client approved procedures. Cleans glue off panels and strips materials from parts.
Learn to perform basic sewing modifications to seat covers, curtains, and miscellaneous items using sewing machine, glue gun and other hand tools.
Must be able to interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure installed interiors meet the design spec, quality standards and customer expectations.
Learn to request material needs timely to ensure a continuous workflow.
Adheres to all regulatory documentation regarding proper sign offs. As well as be able to ensure paperwork is complied with and completed timely in accordance with the client RSQM and other quality standards.
Follow all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and equipment.
Basic knowledge of company installation procedures, process specs, IOPs, etc.
Other duties as assigned but not covered herein.
Requirements
High School Diploma, or GED. Relevant trade school attendance is a plus.
Basic knowledge of the Upholstery process as it specifically relates to the corporate aviation industry, in a completions environment.
6+ years aviation upholstery experience
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Basic knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the Upholstery process.
Willingness to obtain knowledge of the RSQM and FAA requirements as it relates to Upholstery Installation.
Working knowledge of computers and related software utilized by client.
Willingness to obtain working knowledge of lean or other continuous improvement opportunity techniques.
