RS Interior Install Tech II - Weekend Day Shift

The Interior Installation Technician II works under general supervision to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, which may include items such as trim, carpet, sound proofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels and other accessories. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors and panels). Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. . Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders and brakes. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools. Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards. Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors. Apply proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations. Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk. Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance requirements. Adapt to sudden schedule changes. Additional Functions: Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques. . Make and use simple patterns for own use employing standardized procedures. . In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of applicable installation, fabrication or related experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred.. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install fabricated aircraft interior components. Interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure installed interiors meets the design spec, quality standards and customer expectations. Requirements

6+ years Interior Install experience, preferably in the corporate aviation completion environment. High School Diploma, or GED. Relevant trade school attendance is a plus. Advanced knowledge of the Interior Installation process as it specifically relates to the corporate aviation industry, in a completions environment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Strong knowledge and expertise with all aspects of the Interior Installation process. Knowledge of the RSQM and FAA requirements as it relates to Interior Installation. Working knowledge of computers. Working knowledge of lean or other continuous improvement opportunity techniques. Ability to communicate in an assertive yet professional, motivating and tactful manner.

Clean corrosion and treat metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. Accomplish simple sheet metal repairs or simple replacements of structural parts. Fabricate replacement covering, panels or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Understand and practice correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft Identify the locations of pressurized areas of the aircraft. Open and close areas on the aircraft which are required to be opened for inspection. May affect bonded repairs of honeycomb structures. Ensure work performed meets FAA and customer standards. Follow standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members. Ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge or skill. Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner. Clean and remove any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs.

Must be able to breathe through a full-face respirator. Employees with facial hair will be required to purchase a hood to meet respirator requirements. Requirements

Minimum of 3 years experience as a helicopter mechanic with at least 2 years on any of the following designated helicopters, Airbus/Eurocopter AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145, Agusta 109, 119, 139, Bell 206, 407, 429, 412, 505, MD500, and/or Sikorsky S76. Inspect and repair aircraft according to strict safety guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or applicable regulatory body. Perform routine maintenance checks and perform diagnostic tests to identify hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions. Consult maintenance blueprints, manuals, and other documents to assist with troubleshooting and repairs. Inventory aircraft parts, supplies, and equipment, and keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and other maintenance operations. Complete tasks within allotted time frames and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to perform repairs and ensure aircraft are operating smoothly.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years experience as a helicopter mechanic with at least 4 years on any of the following designated helicopters, Airbus/Eurocopter AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145, Agusta 109, 119, 139, Bell 206, 407, 429, 412, 505, MD500, and/or Sikorsky S76. A&P License highly preferred Flight line experience to include track and balance Must have own tools Must have a basic knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, FAA documentation High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry IA Preferred Any OEM school training within the last 4 years preferred

Skills: Analytical mind with a penchant for troubleshooting. Excellent math and computer skills. Detail-oriented with a passion for mechanics. Manual dexterity and physical strength. Extensive experience with power and hand tools, and knowledge of aircraft systems, mechanics, and parts. Ability to make consistent and precise repairs under pressure.
