The A&P Supervisor (Working Supervisor) is responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance and repair operations while actively working alongside the team. The Sheetmetal Technician Senior works under minimal supervision to safely lay-out, fabricate and install parts equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Use complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft. Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. Mentor and train Sheetmetal Technicians, as required. Review their work prior to sign off to ensure work complies with quality control standards. Oversee projects or other technicians and assesses requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation for assigned tasks. Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants and solvents. Utilizing tools as required to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information. Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheetmetal functions. Use the proper hardware for various sheetmetal applications. Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Uses personal protective equipment as required. Ensures aircraft is protected (PTP). Conduct monthly 5S audits, as required. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required. Additional Functions: Work closely with lead to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man hours. Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g. YIAW, Kaizen events, etc.) Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects. Perform Lead responsibilities, as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Four (4) years of sheetmetal and/or fabrication experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred. Valid Driver’s License required. Other Requirements: Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Valid drivers license required to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Adapts to sudden schedule changes. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment, such as power supply, hydraulic rigs, nitrogen filler carts, and oxygen service carts. Operate and supervise use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components. Coordinate movement of aircraft as required. Assist in training new employees concerning computerized maintenance program (CMP) maintenance manuals, SRMs illustrated parts catalog (IPC) usage, flight test installations, and all maintenance of major components. Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed. Additional Functions: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage area after use. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required. 4 years Aviation Maintenance experience to include 3 years of experience working on mid/large size aircraft required.. Corporate aircraft experience preferred. Other FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required. Valid Driver’s License required. Under direct supervision of the Mechanical Team Lead or Senior Tech, assist with the inspection, maintenance and repair of customer aircraft. In this position, the employee will gain knowledge of and familiarity with the Gulfstream aircraft, with internal procedures for work completion and quality control, and with the ways in which multiple shops must work together to meet production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Goals of the Aircraft Tech Trainee are to gain experience in the inspection and maintenance of various Gulfstream aircraft systems (airframe structural, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, landing gear, flight controls and rigging, engines, conditioned air, anti-ice, and other sub-systems). Make effective use of technical reference resources (maintenance and repair manuals, wiring diagrams, vendors and manufacturer communiques, etc.) as required to identify correct part numbers, procedures, and materials. Learn to find information. Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. Properly complete parts change sheets, work order sign-offs, shift turn-overs, and other paper work in a timely manner. Ensure that work accomplished meets FAA requirements, customer specifications, and Gulfstream standard of quality. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely. Prevent damage to aircraft. Correctly and safely operate ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.) Assist Line Service with the movement and servicing of aircraft. Ensure that parts racks and cages remain near their respective aircraft. Perform other duties as assigned.
