APA is seeking a Quality Inspector at a FAA-rated Repair Station in Bridgeport, WV. This role ensures airworthiness of aircraft, engines, and components through inspections, accurate documentation, and compliance with FAA (and other international authorities like TCCA/EASA) standards. You’ll be on the front lines of quality assurance—checking incoming materials, guiding inspections, and signing off on return-to-service efforts for commercial and military aircraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and alterations per FAA 145 regulations Conduct walk-around inspections to confirm return-to-service readiness . Perform detailed checks of all incoming parts and materials using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) Inspect repaired or rebuilt components for damage, count, and conformity Verify outgoing materials meet purchase order, engineering, and regulatory specs; issue Authorized Release Certificates (e.g., FAA Form 8130, TCCA Form One) Ensure all records—arrival, maintenance, corrective actions—are logged in the system, and that regulatory (FAA, FAR, CAA, TCCA, EASA) and customer-specific paperwork are complete Research drawings, engineering orders, maintenance records, and configuration data to verify standards Conduct internal audits and procedural checks to ensure firm compliance Ensure weighing protocols and other technical procedures are followed per customer specs Mentor, train, and coach technicians and junior inspectors in best practices Collaborate with Engineering and Material Review Boards to resolve non-conformances Provide inspection-related data and certification info to customers as requested

Requirements

Min 3+ years experience performing aircraft inspections under FAR 145, 121, or 135 OR military experience on commercial/military aircraft CRJ airframe experience REQUIRED MRO/Heavy Maintenance experience REQUIRED FAA A&P License REQUIRED Must have working knowledge of special tooling and machinery used in detail inspection, as well as aircraft part fabrication process. Ability to calculate tolerances using specialty/calibrated measuring devices. Able to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments and special tooling. A minimum of 2 years heavy commercial experience along with the 737 GEN FAM classes listed below is required for the listed skills. A 40-Hour B737-NG Gen Fam (Must have Certificate of previous training) Active A&P License High School diploma or equivalent Thorough understanding of FAA 14 CFR parts 21, , 43, 121, 125 and 145. Subject to noises more than 85 dbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolong periods of time, and climb steps, ladders and/or service stands.
