The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, E.A.s, and with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Remove and replace various aircraft components with the use of special tooling and ground support equipment following oral and written instructions such as supervisor’s directives and manuals to complete all routine and non-routine assignments in a timely manner. Proficient detail blueprint reading, ability to read, interpret and work from service bulletins, engineering work orders, major S.R.M. structural repairs. Ability to layout work using bend radius, set back and bend allowance charts, utilization of shop math, install and/or splice spars, landing gear, trunion changes, pressure bulkhead repairs and keal beam repairs/ removal and reinstall. Knowledge of ATA codes, knowledge of all applicable F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures including job card/ time card, routine/ non-routine cards, S.R.M.’s, service bulletins, E.O.’s, and work sign-off/ sell-off procedures. Perform the duties of and provide the necessary training for lower skill levels. Maintain and store tools in a serviceable condition. Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area. Maintain and supply personal records of work performed on OJT forms for the Training Department. Successfully complete any courses deemed necessary by the Training Department. Perform any work that may be assigned by his or her supervisor.

3-5 years' sheetmetal experience Must have experience on 737 and/or Dash 8 aircraft Must have minimum required tools. Tool box must be etched shadowed prior to start High school diploma or equivalent

A copy shall be on file in QA and one copy in the owner’s tool box. Facial Hair (Men) – Beards and mustaches, if worn, will be neatly trimmed to an approximate ¼” maximum. Short, evenly trimmed sideburns are allowed. Hair Overall (All) - Will not be worn in an extreme or fad style. Men’s hair will not extend below the bottom of the standard shirt collar. Tattoos (All) – Visible tattoos are allowed on arms and legs if they are not discriminatory based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive nature. These include the prohibition of any tattoos commonly associated with gangs, extremists and/or supremacist organizations or discrimination. Tattoos, brandings or body marks on the head, neck, face, tongue, lips, and/or scalp are prohibited. Hand tattoos are limited to one single-band ring tattoo, on one finger, on one hand. Shoes – When working in safety and/or industrial flight line environment, shoes must follow OSHA guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years related structural assembly experience. Experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.. Other Requirements: Must be able to read and interpret blue prints. Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and equipment. Identifies the structural composition of aircraft (i.e., aluminum or composite) prior to performing any work on the structure. Performs repairs on noted discrepancies, and effectively researches manufacturer’s manuals for appropriate repair procedures prior to performing repairs. Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed. Follows safety procedures and wears/uses appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed. Performs basic sheet metal repairs and replacement of structural parts using the following skills: Use measuring instruments such as rulers and grip gauges Utilize hand and powered tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, drill presses, squaring shears and brakes to cut and form Ability to assemble parts by, bolting, screwing, and riveting Determine different types of fasteners used by symbol Remove and install minor components of aircraft structure or systems such as fairings, cargo liners, cargo floors and access panels Ability to repair minor or secondary structure per the manufactures SRM Fabricates replacement covering, panels, or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Performs repairs of a cosmetic nature in passenger cabin interiors. Performs and demonstrates understanding of sealing procedures of aircraft structures. Performs bonded repairs of honeycomb structures as instructed. Identifies the locations of pressurized areas of aircraft. Opens and closes areas on the aircraft that are required to be open for inspection. Applies corrosion preventatives and maintains knowledge of areas of the aircraft in which corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. Possesses working knowledge of ATA Codes (Chapter and Subchapters) as well as aircraft zones, narrow body airframe familiarization, and industry standards. Reads maintenance manuals to identify and locate aircraft components on the aircraft, and accurately implements instructions of maintenance manuals. Identifies the structural composition of aircraft (i.e., aluminum or composite) prior to performing any work on the structure. Performs repairs on noted discrepancies, and effectively researches manufacturer’s manuals for appropriate repair procedures prior to performing repairs. Prepares and maintains simple records such as work order documentation, logs, and time and material records, as instructed. Follows safety procedures and wears/uses appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed. Reads instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of sheet metal experience on Airbus and Boeing Aircraft High School Diploma or GED required. Airframe & Powerplant License, preferred Have own tools Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English regarding safety sensitive work activities, per FAA requirements. Individual will perform daily transactions within the ERP system (AMROS KIOSK), vending (POU), as well as research customer’s maintenance manuals. Work safely and follow safety rules and regulations. Take action to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
