Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Finish all surfaces by means of paint, polish, etc. I.A.W. client approved procedures.
Must be able to interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure all finished parts meet the design spec, quality standards and customer expectations.
Learn to request material needs from approved data in a timely manner to ensure a continuous workflow.
Must be able to adhere to all regulatory documentation regarding proper sign offs. As well as be able to ensure paperwork is complied with and completed timely in accordance with the client RSQM and other quality standards.
Follow all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and equipment.
Basic knowledge of company installation procedures, process specs, IOPs, etc.
Other duties as assigned but not covered herein.
Requirements
6+ years Interior Install experience, preferably in the corporate aviation completion environment.
High School Diploma, or GED. Relevant trade school attendance is a plus.
Basic knowledge of the sheet metal fabrication processes as it specifically relates to the corporate aviation industry, in a completions environment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Basic knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the finish application process.
Willingness to obtain knowledge of the RSQM and FAA requirements as it relates to finish application.
Working knowledge of computers and related software utilized by client.
Willingness to obtain working knowledge of lean or other continuous improvement opportunity techniques.
Ability to communicate in an assertive yet professional, motivating, and tactful manner.

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.
The location where this position works is in the back shop of an aircraft hangar environment which could be subject to weather changes and is subject to constant exposure to loud noise, potential contact with hazardous waste material, heavy machinery and other safety hazards such as cabinets, etc.

Performs moderately complex to complex surface repairs and touch up of cabinetry and related interiors systems and equipment that are primarily in the shop. May perform repairs of equipment installed in the aircraft.

Strong buffing and polishing skills.
Ability to spray stain and clear coats.

Be familiar with and have operational knowledge of department tools.
Able to apply various types of clear coats in the aircraft industry.
Have experience cutting and buffing polyesters, urethanes, imron and acrylic clear coats.
Must be able to touch up cabinetry in the shop.
Performs moderately complex to complex filling operations related to the cosmetic appearance of the part being worked. Removes excess material and prepares the surface for finishing. Performs difficult masking operations.
Selects finish ingredients and mixes them by hand or machine to obtain specified color or shade to specifications or match existing finish. Calculates mix ratios in order to mix sealant, filler materials, and paint.
Applies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards.

Works to develop and implement process improvements that address safety, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma tools.
Utilizes the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.
Assists in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required.
Additional Functions:
Accepts Lead responsibilities when needed.
Oversees projects and coordinates with Lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.
Conducts safety audits and assists team members in doing safety audits.
Assists in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.

Uses the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.

Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce, cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques. .
