The Interior Mechanic III will perform such typical maintenance operations such as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torquing, adjusting rigging and safety wiring, including powerplant and flight control removal and reinstallation.

Repair, modify, replace or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems to ensure airworthiness. Complete all tasks to the quality standards of FAA and our customers’ approved maintenance manual. Read and use Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated parts Catalog, Blueprints, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins, routine and non-routines and other related maintenance documents in order to troubleshoot and effectively complete work assignments. Ensures documents are returned to the Technical Library and/or destroyed, as required, after jobs are complete. Use and operate safely all ground support equipment, (i.e., Main Lifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and possess the client's operating certification. Promote a culture of safety my monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the client's Team Member Safety Manual. Responsible for the proper execution of parts tags attached to repairable, serviceable or condemned parts. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and co-workers. Keep own and adjacent work area clean Able to work any or all shifts.

5+ years interior mechanic experience A&P License preferred High school education or equivalent Must provide own tools Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as walk extended distances. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and/service stands. Must have normal corrected hearing and vision. Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Interior Technician repairs, builds, troubleshoots and performs installation and fabrication work on pieces found within the aircraft interior.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Repair, remove and install upholstery, carpeting, sound-proofing mechanisms, lighting, cabinets, or wall panels independently or with others with minimal supervision. Removal, disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as doors, galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, and panels independently or with others with minimal supervision. Able to read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and be able to perform complex cabin reconfiguration. Using hand tools and necessary equipment perform skilled mechanical work as necessary or instructed. Knowledge of basic aviation including: components and zones of the aircraft, LOTO, PPE, Haz Waste, proper use of GSE and other regulatory requirements. Read maintenance manuals, work instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. Prepare and maintain simple records such as work order/task card documentation, logs, parts tags, and time and material records, as instructed.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years of aircraft interior maintenance work techniques, terminology, parts, etc.. High School Diploma or GED required. Familiar with 14 CFR Part 91/121 or 145 preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English regarding safety sensitive work activities, per FAA requirements. Will perform daily transactions within the ERP system (AMROS KIOSK), vending (POU), as well as research customer’s maintenance manuals. Work safely and follow safety rules and regulations. Take action to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

Strip finish as needed. Prepare surfaces to be painted by sanding, steaming, filling, and cleaning. Cover all areas to be protected from paint or stripper with proper materials. Select and mix proper paint to the Manufacturer’s specifications. May be required to experiment with special paints and related products. Set up and use spray gun for proper application of urethane, lacquer, enamel, water base and epoxy paints. Touch up woodwork with brush, airbrush, and/or spray gun, blend-in techniques. Complete tasks within assigned time limits. Accurately log computerized labor data collection system for work orders, time and attendance tracking. May lead or train other personnel on specific job assignments as directed by supervision. Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures. Set up and operate standard shop equipment.

High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience preparing, sanding or stripping metal or composite surfaces for the application of primer; or polishing, buffing and/or touch up/artistic background; or specialized technical school certification in related field Able to work from documentation such as company procedures, preparation packages, etc. Able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Must have visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors or rework.
