The Interior Mechanic III will perform such typical maintenance operations such as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torquing, adjusting rigging and safety wiring, including powerplant and flight control removal and reinstallation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Repair, modify, replace or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems to ensure airworthiness. Complete all tasks to the quality standards of FAA and our customers’ approved maintenance manual. Perform work within estimated or budgeted hours. Read and use Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated parts Catalog, Blueprints, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins, routine and non-routines and other related maintenance documents in order to troubleshoot and effectively complete work assignments. Ensures that the client and customer aircraft maintenance documents are accurate and properly annotated. Ensures documents are returned to the Technical Library and/or destroyed, as required, after jobs are complete. Use and operate safely all ground support equipment, (i.e., Main Lifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and possess the client's operating certification. Promote a culture of safety my monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the client's Team Member Safety Manual. Responsible for the proper execution of parts tags attached to repairable, serviceable or condemned parts. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and co-workers. Keep own and adjacent work area clean Able to work any or all shifts.

5+ years interior mechanic experience A&P License preferred High school education or equivalent Must provide own tools Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as walk extended distances. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and/service stands. Must have normal corrected hearing and vision. Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting. Repair, adjustments and installation of aircraft seats. Read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and perform complex cabin reconfigurations. Hold general knowledge of tools. Understand how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers. Identify interior fasteners and determine grip lengths required, and possess basic knowledge of installation methods. Clean corrosion and treat metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. Apply corrosion preventatives and know to which areas of the aircraft corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. Accomplish simple sheet metal repairs or simple replacements of structural parts. Fabricate replacement covering, panels or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Understand and practice correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft Identify the locations of pressurized areas of the aircraft. Open and close areas on the aircraft which are required to be opened for inspection. May affect bonded repairs of honeycomb structures. Ensure work performed meets FAA and customer standards. Follow standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members. Ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge or skill. Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner. Clean and remove any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 3 years previous Interiors/Cabins experience required. Must have minimum required tools.

Performs difficult masking operations. Selects finish ingredients and mixes them by hand or machine to obtain specified color or shade to specifications or match existing finish. Calculates mix ratios in order to mix sealant, filler materials, and paint. Applies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. High School Diploma or GED required. 4 years experience in wood finishing processes. Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing processes and products. Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
