Requirements

The Cabin/Interiors Technician’s main responsibilities will be removal disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, repairing and reinstalling as needed of aircraft cabin furnishings and equipment as galleys, lavatories, seats, overhead compartments, panels and carpeting.

Repair, adjustments and installation of aircraft seats. Read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, service bulletins, aircraft manuals and catalogs and perform complex cabin reconfigurations. Hold general knowledge of tools. Understand how to read a micrometer, depth gauge or dial calipers. Identify interior fasteners and determine grip lengths required, and possess basic knowledge of installation methods. Clean corrosion and treat metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications. Apply corrosion preventatives and know to which areas of the aircraft corrosion inhibiting liquids may not be applied. Accomplish simple sheet metal repairs or simple replacements of structural parts. Fabricate replacement covering, panels or fairings by using the removed parts as samples. Understand and practice correctly basic sealing procedures of aircraft Identify the locations of pressurized areas of the aircraft. Open and close areas on the aircraft which are required to be opened for inspection. May affect bonded repairs of honeycomb structures. Ensure work performed meets FAA and customer standards. Follow standards of behavior and appearance for all staff members. Ask questions as necessary to increase knowledge or skill. Maintain work area in an orderly and clean manner. Clean and remove any foreign objects generated during the course of effecting repairs.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 3 years previous Interiors/Cabins experience required. Must have minimum required tools.

Perform necessary calculations using shop math to fabricate and/or install complete or major assemblies and sub-assemblies Fabricate, assemble, and install products, such as side panels, headliners, service ledges, cornices, etc. Install galleys, lavatories, entertainment cabinets and water systems Assemble and install window assemblies, sliding window shades, window frames, etc. Cut, fit and attach fabric, leather, Naugahyde, etc. to decorative panels, using cement or other fasteners as required Cut, fit and install carpeting in aircraft Installs cabin and cockpit chairs Perform functional checks on installed systems — air, oxygen, water, etc. Set up and operate standard shop equipment Determine work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules and plan accordingly Accurately log computerized labor data collection for time and attendance tracking Assist other personnel on specific job assignments Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures

Requirements

High school diploma or GED Three (3) year of experience in basic carpentry or related Ability to work from blueprints, CATIA models, company standards, and work instructions Must have required tools Able to use drills, belt, disc and drum sanders and other common hand tools and equipment Able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs, transporting any and all interior furnishings and assisting other employees with or without reasonable accommodation Physical and muscular dexterity to install carpets, headliners, window panels, PSUs, cabinet assemblies, couches, seats, tables and related components. Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Must not be abnormally allergic to glue, resin, wood dust and other by-products of interior type furnishings.

Miscellaneous

WORKING CONDITIONS: Hangar and ramp environments with variable temperature range normal to Central Arkansas area. Must not be abnormally allergic to glue, resin, wood dust and other by-products of interior type furnishing.
