The CNC Mill Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining programs for complex aerospace tooling and precision components. This role requires strong machining knowledge, programming expertise, and hands-on collaboration with machinists, engineering, and quality teams to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
Develop and optimize machining strategies for:
Aerospace tooling
Precision-machined components
Ground support equipment
Create and maintain:
CNC programs
Tool lists
Setup sheets
Manufacturing documentation
Review engineering drawings, CAD models, and customer specifications
Select cutting tools, fixtures, and machining methods
Support machinists during setup, prove-out, and production
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the shop floor
Improve cycle times, tooling efficiency, and manufacturing processes
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements
Maintain organized revision control of CNC programs and manufacturing data
Requirements
5+ years of CNC programming experience
Strong knowledge of:
CNC milling operations
Tooling and workholding
GD&T interpretation
Machining of aluminum, steel, stainless, and aerospace materials
Experience programming:
3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
Hands-on shop floor experience with setup and prove-out
Preferred
Aerospace manufacturing experience
5-axis programming experience
Experience with:
Mastercam
Fusion 360
SolidWorks CAM
GibbsCAM
HyperMill
Familiarity with:
Haas
Mazak
DMG Mori
Okuma

Applies advanced technical skills and knowledge to program and operate multi-purpose numerically controlled machines to perform defined combinations of machining operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs tasks that are moderate to complex requiring experience and judgment to complete.
Reviews setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece. Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions.
Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
Enters commands to retrieve pre-programmed machine instructions from database and machine control console.
Operates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and start machine. Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions. Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.
Adjusts machine feed and speed, changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
Sets up and operates the machine to produce parts. Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions.
Requirements
Formal Education, Training and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management.
High school diploma or G.E.D. and formal technical training in operating computer numerically controlled production machines and four (4) or more years of directly related or related experience.
