The A&P Mechanic maintains the Company’s aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition according to the Company maintenance manual and FAR regulations. Conducts or assists with all inspections and repairs on aircraft and aircraft sub-assemblies and performs required documentation, billing, regulatory and other administrative tasks in adherence with Company, customer and FAA policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs scheduled maintenance on aircraft, as assigned. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of completed tasks. Troubleshoots and repairs damaged, worn, or defective mechanical components. Performs pre-flight and post-flight inspections on aircraft as time permits. Reports discrepancies to Maintenance Manager or Pilot in Command. Documents maintenance activities. Completes required paperwork, including return to service requirements. Observes current applicable FAA Regulations and GMM’s while performing required maintenance. Complies with Company safety policies and procedures. Maintains general cleanliness of hangar, parts/tool rooms and ramp areas, including operation of hangar floor cleaning machine. Participates in preplanning briefing to ensure complete understanding of the project work scope, man-hour availability and projected completion date. Ensures proper job planning so that parts and other resources are available in a timely manner to meet milestones and deadlines. Demonstrates proper inspection and repair procedures. Ensures that the work order is opened and updated throughout the project in a timely manner. Ensures that squawks on work orders are accurate and descriptive. Ensures that time and parts billed on a work order are accurate, justified and reasonable. Trains, coaches and provides oversight to junior A&P’s. Serves as a positive role model for ethical behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with these principles; promotes and supports the mission, vision and values of the Company. Performs other duties and assignments, as required.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience on corporate jets – Gulfstream, Learjet, Hawker, Challenger, Falcon experience is required Experience performing scheduled inspections, line maintenance or sheet metal work on Gulfstream, Learjet, Hawker, Challenger, Falcon A&P License Required Local candidates preferred

Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required. To perform functions assigned in the service, repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft components, parts and accessories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Researches technical data and performs disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, assembly, testing and calibration of aircraft components and company special tools and ground equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manual, FAA regulations and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures. Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing and hydraulic units. Reads and interprets manufacturers’ and airlines’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Upon removing units from an aircraft, engine, or other major component or subassembly, completes appropriate identification, routing tags and forms and makes appropriate entries into the Component Removal Log. Inspects turbine blades to detect cracks or breaks. Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, or other defects. Repairs or replaces defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Upon completion of work scope obtains the signature of a certified mechanic on work cards or forms

Requirements

5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on commercial aircraft Active A&P License Must have own tools - must be etched at in a toolbox Participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and SMS compliance. Participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries. Follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
