As an Aircraft Mechanic , you will be responsible for performing routine and non-routine maintenance on commercial aircraft under supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Services and repairs aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness according to customer specifications and FAA standards.
Removes and replaces aircraft components according to driving documentation.
Identifies, removes, and installs inspection access panels.
Reads maintenance manuals to identify and locate aircraft components on the aircraft, and accurately implements instructions of maintenance manuals. Identifies the structural composition of aircraft (i.e., aluminum or composite) prior to performing any work on the structure.
Performs aircraft lubrications.
Removes and replaces filters, and performs leak checks.

Uses basic hand tools or equipment to perform skilled manual and technical work.
Lifts and carries hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascends and descends ladders and platforms; and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping, kneeling or squatting.
Follows safety procedures and wears/uses appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed.
Requirements
42 Months of commercial/military experience, or an Airframe license and 6 months experience, or completion of VT MAE Airman Trainee Program.

Tools shall be identified with a number unique to the owner. Multiple items too small to identify (apexs, drill bits, etc.) will be placed in a container. The quantity of items, to include the container itself, shall be readable on the outside of the container.
Each item shall be listed on a “Master Tool Box” inventory. A copy shall be on file in QA and one copy in the owner’s tool box.
Facial Hair (Men) – Beards and mustaches, if worn, will be neatly trimmed to an approximate ¼” maximum. Short, evenly trimmed sideburns are allowed.
Hair Overall (All) - Will not be worn in an extreme or fad style. Men’s hair will not extend below the bottom of the standard shirt collar.
Tattoos (All) – Visible tattoos are allowed on arms and legs if they are not discriminatory based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive nature. These include the prohibition of any tattoos commonly associated with gangs, extremists and/or supremacist organizations or discrimination.
