We are seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics for an opportunity in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, supporting heavy maintenance operations on Shorts 360 cargo aircraft. Candidates do not need previous Shorts 360 experience. We are looking for skilled aircraft structures professionals with strong sheet metal and heavy maintenance experience who can bring their expertise to the team and learn the platform.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on aircraft sheet metal or structural maintenance experience with a strong background in structural repairs, fabrication, modification, drilling, riveting, and component removal and installation in a hangar environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform aircraft structural and sheet metal maintenance, repairs, and modifications on Shorts 360 cargo aircraft
Inspect aircraft structures and identify damage, corrosion, cracks, and other structural discrepancies
Perform structural repairs in accordance with approved technical data, engineering drawings, and Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs)
Fabricate, fit, install, and repair aircraft sheet metal components and structural assemblies
Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting, reaming, cutting, forming, and other aircraft sheet metal tasks
Remove and install aircraft panels, skins, structural components, and related hardware
Perform repairs and modifications to aircraft skins, frames, stringers, bulkheads, and other structural components
Measure, lay out, and fabricate parts using drawings, templates, and technical specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, SRMs, and other technical data
Ensure all maintenance and repair work is properly documented in accordance with FAA regulations and company requirements
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Collaborate with mechanics, leads, inspectors, and management to meet maintenance schedules and aircraft delivery requirements
Follow all company safety procedures, FAA regulations, and quality standards
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of aircraft sheet metal or structural maintenance experience required
Strong aircraft structures and heavy maintenance experience required
Previous Shorts 360 experience is a plus but is not required
Aircraft-specific experience is not required; candidates with structural maintenance experience on other aircraft platforms are encouraged to apply
Hands-on experience with drilling, riveting, countersinking, reaming, fabrication, and structural repairs
Experience repairing and replacing aircraft skins, panels, frames, stringers, and other structural components
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Structural Repair Manuals, and other technical data
Ability to accurately measure, lay out, fabricate, fit, and install aircraft structural components
Familiarity with aircraft structural repair tools, equipment, and techniques
A&P License is a plus but not required
Must have own basic tools required for the position
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed
Must be able to pass required pre-employment screenings
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and FAA compliance
