The A&P Mechanic is responsible to perform aircraft maintenance and/or repairs within estimated time in accordance with applicable "Client Airframe Services", FAA, and customer standards of quality. This includes organizing his/her work plan in an efficient and resourceful manner. The A&P Mechanic is responsible to work in a safe manner, eliminating waste, and delivering a quality product on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform such typical maintenance operations as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components that require bolting, torquing, adjusting, rigging, and safety wiring to include powerplant, and flight control removal/installation. Troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, inspect, modify, replace, and/or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness. Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Perform work within estimated hours. Follow all safety procedures and specifications. Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties. Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner. Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments with little or no rework. Assist other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, counseling, and guidance. Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.

Requirements

Two (2) years aircraft maintenance experience on heavy transport category aircraft. High School diploma or equivalent. FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate. Able to work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications. Must be able to use calibrated tools, measuring devices, and set up and operate standard shop equipment. Able to enter or exit aircraft work stands in a safe manner. Able to work from adjustable height stands in a safe manner and be able to climb steps to approximately 25 feet in height, with or without reasonable accommodation. Able to use motorized portable personnel lifts that extend up to 25 feet in height. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Other examples of inspection information would be FAA Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer’s bulletins, approved customer data, and Federal Aviation Regulations. Make final airworthiness determination prior to “Return of Service” on items they are authorized to inspect for any article maintained or altered by this repair station. Reject any work or parts that have not been properly maintained or altered in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, manufacturer’s approved data, customer approved data and the policies and procedures contained within this manual. Support the company Safety Program

Plans, lays out, fabricates and builds adhesive bonded assemblies of metallic and nonmetallic composite materials. Fabricate composite and metal parts into subassemblies for the purpose of prefitting in preparation for bonding/curing in presses, ovens, and autoclaves. Lays out, prefits, assembles and performs lay-up on a variety of metal to metal and composite bonded assemblies. Fits core in panels where close tolerances are required for installation of details for completion of assembly. Performs vacuum bagging for Autoclave cures up to 100 psi. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates. Selects tooling and materials compatible with the processing techniques identified in the work instructions. Performs rework or repair on any metallic or nonmetallic part presented for rework or repair.

Requirements

4 years experience in Aircraft Repair Bonding in an aerospace environment Special Skills, Licenses or Job Requirements: Demonstrate competency in applying the following in performing normal job duties. • Reading and interpreting work instructions, properly documenting work performed on such documents as process planning, adhesive log sheets, Material Review Board documents, Engineering Work Orders, Change Notices, Engineering Process Specifications, technical manuals and like documentation. • Use close tolerance measuring tools i.e. scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages and like tools. Special Training and Behavioral Competencies: • Safety training as required by OSHA. • Intermediate blueprint reading.
