The A&P Mechanic I will perform such typical maintenance operations as the removal and replacement of aircraft and powerplant components, troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, inspect, modify, replace, and/or overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness.

• Prepares materials and parts for shipping by forecasting work assignments and assigning to appropriate personnel. Develops cut sheets with correct dimensions of crates. Proficient in operating an engine powered forklift, loading and unloading trucks, building crates, wrapping/packing parts and labeling boxes and instructing others in these procedures.
• Prepares appropriate shipping paperwork and coordinates transportation according to customer requirements or preset transportation guidelines. Inputs materials shipped into the computer system.
• Expedites the shipping of materials, including, but not limited to interpreting the materials planning, packing lists, freight bills, and shipment pick up through services, such as Federal Express Powership and UPS Teleship.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.

Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
Selects tooling and materials compatible with the processing techniques identified in the work instructions.
