The Sheetmetal Mechanic will troubleshoot, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft sheet metal components, composites and hydraulics. Perform and document all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1+ YEAR of structural sheet metal repair / modification experience or substantiated similar experience Have an A Certification, or A & P Certificate or Repairman Certificate Completed Sheet metal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status Own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required Work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays Able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside Obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (If applicable) You have basic PC skills Demonstrate ability to train other employees

Requirements

Two (2) years’ experience in heavy aircraft maintenance, preferably with an airline and/or MRO aircraft company. Must have thorough working knowledge of all forms and documents required to support heavy maintenance service, including, but not limited to Company policy and procedure manuals, FAR’s, AD’s, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Manuals. Able to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings. Efficient in the use and application of tools, gauges, instruments, etc. necessary for the accomplishment of duties assigned. Must have an understanding and working knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal as related to the job assignment. Valid and current Airframe and Powerplant license is a plus. Must have minimum required tools. Meet the qualifications to obtain a SIDA badge. High School diploma or equivalent.

Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed. Additional Functions: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers. . Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. . Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility. . Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage area after use. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 4 years Aviation Maintenance experience to include 3 years of experience working on mid/large size aircraft required.. Corporate aircraft experience preferred. Other FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required. Valid Driver’s License required. Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each aircraft product line. Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
