Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs inspections, service, and repairs of the most complicated nature on aircraft systems and components on a variety of airframes in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with no rework, with a superior level of quality, craftsmanship, and efficiency. Makes sound technical decisions as a technician and when functioning as Qualified Inspector (QI). Efficiently and effectively troubleshoots, function tests, and repairs the most complicated aircraft systems across a variety of airframes. Prepares various documents for record keeping purposes, as required by Company policy and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, personal training log, etc.). Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system, service plans, Tracker and outside maintenance tracking programs by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance statements, final inspection and closing of squawks and work orders. Willingly and effectively shares knowledge and capabilities with less experienced technicians through OJT to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support of the team’s goals. Proficiently and consistently locates and uses the appropriate technical data to accomplish any and all tasks. In the absence of the lead technician, accepts ownerships of the work scope and established milestones relative to the successful and timely completion of these projects. Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assign and schedule tasks to technicians based on skill set, as directed by the Project Manager and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Monitor workers allocated to his/her control and provide clear on the job instructions. Provide On-The-Job training, orientation and direction to apprentices and technicians. May delegate this function to qualified technicians. Execute the project plan for your area of expertise as provided by the Project Manager. Manage the work scope for your area of expertise within the project budget as set out by the Project Manager. Review work cards for your area of expertise and ensure that the Work Package reflects the actual status of the project. Responsible to ensure that crew members are billing their time to projects appropriately and that all time is accounted for. Responsible to ensure crew members are working productively throughout the duration of their shift. Responsible to ensure crew members follow company policies and procedures including evaluating the quality of work with his/her team. Make certain his/her team members comply with safety policies and procedures. Ensure equipment being used to perform required tasks is acceptable, serviceable and handled in a safety conscious manner. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. . Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility. . Properly use and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage area after use. . Comply with safety rules and procedures. Use protective equipment as required. and be alert for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk. . Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-offs, and to charge labor to correct work orders. . In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Previous Commercial MRO experience - Highly skilled Minimum of three (3) years of heavy aircraft maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience Experience on 737/767/Airbus/Next Gen GEN FAM – 737, NextGen, A320 - required F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License - required. Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documentation accurately. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Finds alternate installation locations as needed. Performs troubleshooting skills. 3. With little or no supervision, designs parts to be fabricated or welded including assembly sketches, hardware and installation specifications in accordance with DUN-A-1 and FAA specifications and regulations. Designates correct fasteners, using fastener codes, for each installation. Documents procedures and techniques for engineering and FAA approval. 4. With little or no supervision, performs cockpit detailing and refurbishing to include locating, layout and cutting, patching, and cutting holes for instruments, control panels, switches, etc. Finishes and engraves, including paint matching, touchup and airbrush work. 5. Completes required paperwork for work order. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the work order procedures. Enters description of work completed. Carry out tasks on the aircraft when all other Lead Technician duties are accomplished. Provide technical assistance and guidance to the technicians on the crew. Ensure all partial work documentation is completed. The documentation should allow the status of a work card to “stand alone” without relying on other means (example; post-it notes, etc.). Partial work documentation includes continuation sheets, service bulletins used as continuation sheets, shift turnover reports, etc. Verify daily time cards. Responsible to ensure that crew members are billing their time to projects appropriately and that all time is accounted for. Responsible to ensure crew members are working productively throughout the duration of their shift. Responsible to ensure crew members follow company policies and procedures including evaluating the quality of work with his/her team. Make certain his/her team members comply with safety policies and procedures. Ensure equipment being used to perform required tasks is acceptable, serviceable and handled in a safety conscious manner. Responsible to ensure work environment is safe and clean, and maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Requirements

10+ years aircraft maintenance experience with at least 2+ recent years in a leadership role. A&P License Have own tools Adhere to standard procedures and policies. Accurately and legibly, record the maintenance or alteration on the proper repair station and/or customer supplied forms including their signature or initials and employee number. Able to perform intermediate/heavy maintenance tasks with little supervision. Perform flight control and engine throttle rigging.
