Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs tasks that are moderate to complex requiring experience and judgment to complete. Reviews setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece. Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions. Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines. Enters commands to retrieve pre-programmed machine instructions from database and machine control console. Operates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and start machine. Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions. Measures work piece for conformance to specifications. Adjusts machine feed and speed, changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions. Sets up and operates the machine to produce parts. Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions. Ancillary Job Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

High School diploma or equivalent. 18+ months of aircraft interiors experience with a maintenance, modification, or overhaul center Must provide own tools as indicated on company tool list. Language (read, write, speak, and understand English). Subject to noise more than 85 dbs. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment. Must be able to breathe through a full-face respirator. Employees with facial hair will be required to purchase a hood to meet respirator requirements. Job requires participation in the DOT random drug and alcohol testing program. Normal or corrected hearing. Duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, climbing stairs, etc., handling supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Assembles parts into subassemblies and final assemblies using basic hand tools such as, drill motors, die grinders, sanders, polishers, rivet shavers and other like tools. Drills holes of varying sizes in detail parts and subassemblies according to work instructions. Installs blind rivets, Jo-Bolts, hilocks, huck bolts, solid rivets and bolts, drives and bucks rivets to attach and assemble detail parts to structural parts and complete subassemblies to written and verbal work instructions. Inspects completed assemblies for conformance to specifications. Completes and maintains necessary paperwork for documenting processes performed.

Applies primer, top coat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub assemblies and major assemblies of aircraft interiors to customer or company specifications and industry quality standards.
