Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Tracks tooling on inventory management and ERP systems. Tracks tools as they come out of use then determines if they need to be routed to another area for scheduled usage or put into storage. Receives, stores and issues tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, measuring devices and other like items used in the production process. Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Assists leads with special projects or requests and serves as back up in their absence. Requires work on the inventory management and ERP systems. Takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock. Ensures that all items requiring calibration are checked and calibrated per schedule or otherwise as required. Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory. Delivers tools or equipment to workers. Marks and identifies tools and equipment. Disposes of obsolete or surplus tools and equipment in accordance with established procedure. Operates forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks and other such devices in a safe manner. Keeps work areas clean and ensures the timely processing of paperwork and material.

Requirements

Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements Completion of advanced vocational-technical training course or equivalent and two (2) years of work experience. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required dependent upon driving duties assigned.

In this role, the Structures Technician will perform aircraft structural repairs and modifications, read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and execute work in accordance with approved data, including STCs and modification packages. This position is well suited for technicians with hands-on experience in structural repairs, aircraft modifications, and blueprint and schematic interpretation. Candidates must be willing to participate in a formal interview process, either in person or via live video.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while performing work. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine layout requirements. Mark outlines or patterns on materials, using measuring instruments and scribes. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and punch and drill presses, to cut, bend, block, form, punch, drill, or otherwise shape parts to specifications. Operate soldering equipment to join sheet metal parts. Smooth edges and surfaces of grooves or joints, using hand tools, power tools, files, or chemicals. Install, repair, and replace aircraft skins, structural components, and interior furnishings such as insulation, carpeting, vinyl flooring, soundproofing materials, seats, paneling, and paint. Install interior and exterior trim such as windows, doors, bulkheads, wall panels, ceilings, flooring, and staircases. Repair or replace damaged control surfaces such as flaps, ailerons, rudders, elevators, or stabilizers using hand tools such as files, grinders, or sanders. Apply corrosion-resistant coatings such as paint or primer to protect surfaces from damage. Keep detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines.

Requirements

Skills: Machining skills to operate and maintain metalworking machines including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses. Welding skills used to repair, modify, and fabricate aircraft parts. Fabrication skills to create, repair, and modify aircraft parts and tooling. Inspection skills to assess aircraft structural components and verify proper installation and performance. Required Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an FAA-approved sheet metal mechanic program. 3+ years’ experience as a sheet metal mechanic, with at least 2 years on aircraft. Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals.
