We are seeking an experienced Lead Sheet Metal Technician to join a growing commercial aircraft maintenance operation in Sanford, Florida. This is a direct hire opportunity supporting heavy maintenance, structural repairs, and return-to-service projects on commercial aircraft. The ideal candidate will bring strong sheet metal and structural repair experience, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and an active A&P License. This individual will serve as a technical leader on the floor, helping drive quality, productivity, and compliance while working closely with management and maintenance teams. Candidates should be comfortable leading by example, troubleshooting complex structural repairs, and ensuring projects remain on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship. Interview Process: Final interview with the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and support sheet metal technicians during heavy maintenance and structural repair projects Perform complex structural repairs, modifications, and sheet metal fabrication in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures Assist with planning, coordinating, and prioritizing daily workload to support production schedules Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians Review and interpret Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation Perform skin repairs, panel replacements, corrosion removal, structural modifications, and major repairs Fabricate, install, and repair aircraft structural components including brackets, doublers, panels, and support structures Ensure all work is completed to quality, airworthiness, and customer requirements Coordinate with inspectors, maintenance control, engineering, and management to resolve technical issues Accurately document maintenance actions and repairs in accordance with FAA regulations Promote a safe, organized, and compliant work environment Support aircraft delivery schedules and operational goals

Requirements

Active FAA A&P License required Minimum 7+ years of commercial aircraft sheet metal and structural repair experience required Previous lead, crew lead, or supervisory experience preferred Strong heavy maintenance and commercial MRO experience required Experience performing major structural repairs and modifications on transport-category aircraft Airbus A320 General Familiarization training highly preferred Experience supporting Airbus A319/A320/A321 aircraft strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret SRMs, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities Must provide own tools Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed Must be able to pass all pre-employment and airport security requirements

As an Avionics technician, you will be instrumental in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex avionics systems on aircraft, demonstrating advanced knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and FAA regulations, often performing intricate repairs. Your role will include performing operational and functional checks during heavy checks, return to service, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs all avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. Communicates with department manager or crew chief on any problems or repairs. Ensure all work performed is inspected by a repair station inspector. Prepares various documents for record keeping purposes as required by company policies, FAA approved repair station and quality control manuals, all FAA regulations, OEM aircraft manufacturer manuals, etc. Learns, understands, and follows the company work order and parts requisition process as written. Maintains a clean, neat, and efficient work area. Repairs and calibrates shop equipment as assigned. Installing, replacing, and repairing avionics components according to engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelines, including wiring harnesses, circuit boards, and sensors. Accurately reading and interpreting complex technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance procedures to perform repairs correctly Diagnosing complex malfunctions within aircraft avionics systems, including navigation equipment, communication radios, weather radar, autopilot systems, and flight instrument Performing Aircraft electrical Modifications, including routing and terminations of new wires and bundles, and with working knowledge of SWPM/ESPM to ensure correct routing of harnesses

Requirements

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 7-9 years' experience in aviation or aerospace industry. A&P/ FCC License preferred. Experience working on and troubleshooting aircraft avionics and airframe systems. Knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 91, 145. Experience working with and repairing the following aircraft systems: Autopilots, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, EFIS, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Lighting, Pitot and Static Systems, ADS-b, Transponders, HF/VHF/ACARS, etc. Military avionics experience preferred but not required. Operating precision avionics test equipment to include IFR 4000/6000, Air Data Test Sets, Multi-Meters, Bonding Meters, Etc. Skills and Abilities: Willingness to work on a team with both experienced technicians and mentor junior technicians with a calm demeanor. Ability to communicate well in straightforward situations. Organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures, wiring manuals and schematics, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, complete paperwork. • Excellent mechanical aptitude and a desire to work. Eager to learn new this for the success of the company Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for up to 4-8 hours. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
