Coordinate the disposition of condemned parts. Be responsible for conducting audits for vendors and this Repair Station. Be proficient in using test equipment, visual inspection aids as required. Understand, read, and write English. Perform other duties as assigned.

Our client, is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to support helicopter maintenance operations across multiple rotorcraft platforms. APA Services is facilitating the hiring process, including candidate screening and interview coordination, with the intent of placing candidates into a long-term role that transitions to direct employment with our client following a short evaluation period. In this role, the Structures Technician will perform aircraft structural repairs and modifications, read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and execute work in accordance with approved data, including STCs and modification packages. This position is well suited for technicians with hands-on experience in structural repairs, aircraft modifications, and blueprint and schematic interpretation. Candidates must be willing to participate in a formal interview process, either in person or via live video.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while performing work. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine layout requirements. Mark outlines or patterns on materials, using measuring instruments and scribes. Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and punch and drill presses, to cut, bend, block, form, punch, drill, or otherwise shape parts to specifications. Operate soldering equipment to join sheet metal parts. Smooth edges and surfaces of grooves or joints, using hand tools, power tools, files, or chemicals. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and tolerances, using precision measuring instruments. Provide accurate diagnoses and repair of structural discrepancies noted. Install structural fittings such as bulkheads, formers, stringers, ribs, frames, and other components. Install insulation materials such as fiberglass or polyurethane using hand or power tools. Repair dents, cracks, or other damage to the aircraft’s skin using appropriate hand tools. Repair holes in aircraft skins using patch materials such as aluminum, composite materials, or plastic materials such as fiberglass cloth or synthetic resin materials. Install, repair, and replace aircraft skins, structural components, and interior furnishings such as insulation, carpeting, vinyl flooring, soundproofing materials, seats, paneling, and paint. Install interior and exterior trim such as windows, doors, bulkheads, wall panels, ceilings, flooring, and staircases. Repair or replace damaged control surfaces such as flaps, ailerons, rudders, elevators, or stabilizers using hand tools such as files, grinders, or sanders. Apply corrosion-resistant coatings such as paint or primer to protect surfaces from damage. Keep detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines.

Requirements

Skills: Machining skills to operate and maintain metalworking machines including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses. Welding skills used to repair, modify, and fabricate aircraft parts. Fabrication skills to create, repair, and modify aircraft parts and tooling. Inspection skills to assess aircraft structural components and verify proper installation and performance. Required Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an FAA-approved sheet metal mechanic program. 3+ years’ experience as a sheet metal mechanic, with at least 2 years on aircraft. Working knowledge of blueprint reading, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals.
