The Sheetmetal Technician II works under general supervision to safely layout, fabricate and install parts, equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Safely perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision. Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. Use blueprints to cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants and solvents. Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information. Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions. Use the proper hardware for various sheetmetal applications. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work. Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements, as required. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment and returns items to tool room after use. . 3. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed when operating ground support equipment. . 4. High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of sheetmetal and/or fabrication experience. Other Requirements: A working knowledge of sheet-metal installation and fabrication processes (measuring, cutting, bending, forming, and drilling of aluminum sheet stock, angle and honeycomb) is required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Valid drivers license required. to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Able to use tools and equipment associated with sheetmetal installation and fabrication work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reads work instructions including production planning, engineering drawings, full size Mylar layouts, process specifications and other technical documentation to insure proper detail configuration. Determines dimensions to layout holes patterns, install clips, brackets, nut plates and like items. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material with or without templates or shop aides to develop or back drill hole patterns on composite, sheet metal and mechanical parts. Trims sheet metal and composite parts to fit and files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces. Installs assemblies in assembly jigs, fixtures or other tooling according to work instructions. Assembles parts into subassemblies and final assemblies using basic hand tools such as, drill motors, die grinders, sanders, polishers, rivet shavers and other like tools. Drills holes of varying sizes in detail parts and subassemblies according to work instructions. Installs blind rivets, Jo-Bolts, hilocks, huck bolts, solid rivets and bolts, drives and bucks rivets to attach and assemble detail parts to structural parts and complete subassemblies to written and verbal work instructions. Inspects completed assemblies for conformance to specifications. Completes and maintains necessary paperwork for documenting processes performed.

2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant license High School Diploma or General Education Degree required. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Highly proficient with computer based technical data programs, and be competent in researching and use of appropriate technical manuals and industry reference materials Must be mechanically adept and demonstrate the skills and knowledge consistent with industry standards for this position, including an understanding of various airframe and power plant systems. Perform proper maintenance practices in accordance to DFJ FPS, “F” standards and Quality standards, such as proper glue application, adhesive bonding, and hardware. Correct handling and use of all required tools specific to the current job assignment. Correct handling and use of all required chemicals and adhesives related to the current job assignment, including general knowledge and ability on retrieving data from the MSDS safety books. Position will primarily have one area of focus: Seat Covering Disassemble and reassemble vendor passenger seats and divans in accordance with the guidelines of the vendor component maintenance manuals, and other seat and divan vendors.

High school diploma or equivalent Experience in Upholstery, Sewing, or related. Able to align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics. Must not be allergic to chemical, solvents, paints, adhesives, natural or manmade materials, fabrics, or feathers. Basic computer skills. Able to work in confined spaces and in unusual positions. Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to work on fine detail, high cost products with a minimum of errors and rework. Able to stock and remove materials from bins above storage level according to OSHA standards.
