Meet Teresa: APA’s Senior Payroll Admin
This month, we sat down with Senior Payroll Administrator Teresa Richardson to talk about her time with APA Services. Teresa works hard everyday handling all aspects of the payment process from tracking employees’ time to ensuring all contractors are receiving their pay correctly. She provides the best service she can to all of those in the APA family – so, if you haven’t gotten the chance to meet Teresa, read below for a little insight into who she is and her role here at APA.
How long have you been with APA?
It will be nine years in December.
What has made you decide to stay with APA for this long?
First, I don’t like change. Second, APA is a great company to work for. Everyone works as a team and the managers treat the employees very well. It’s like a family here.
What do you enjoy most about your role here at APA?
I like the accounting side but overall, I like everything about my job.
What are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?
I do the profitability report each week and it’s inspiring to see the numbers grow. Not just the number of contractors we have been able to attract but the sales each week. The company is going in the right direction and rebounding after COVID.
Describe yourself in three words.
Patient, soft-spoken, go-getter.
If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be and why?
Retention. Some of these contractors don’t stay in one place long. They jump from job to job and quit before situations can be resolved.
What would you say drives your success?
The people around me and the willingness to learn other things.
What is an interesting fact about you that others may not know?
I am originally from Michigan and was born and raised on a dairy farm.
What resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?
None, that I can think of. Just the ability to learn new things.
Your favorite place to eat in Fort Worth? What’s the best thing on the menu?
I don’t eat out so that’s hard to say. But I guess I would say Rio Mamba and the best thing on the menu is the fajitas.
How have you grown professionally while being a part of APA?
Payroll has never been a part of my career, so I guess I would have to say learning payroll and some of the legalities of it.
Any additional details you would like our contractors to know about you?
I like to help people so if there are any questions that a contractor has, I am here to answer them.
