Summary Statement: Applies comprehensive knowledge of administrative concepts, practices and procedures of the entire range of duties within customer service operations requiring a detailed knowledge of Company policies and procedures and industry standards and practices. These duties are performed with considerable latitude and only minimal supervision.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
  • Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish a complete range of assignments and tasks within the customer service function that are varied and complex with the latitude to adapt procedures, processes and techniques.
  • Assesses needs, suggests and promotes alternative products and/or services.
  • Coordinates activities with other internal departments such as production, planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving and sales departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Incumbents may serve as a technical resource to others in the resolution of complex problems, orient, train, assign and review the work of lower level employees.
  • Responds to inquiries, incoming mail or other documentation regarding repair of customer parts or other issues.
  • Receives quotes of repair costs from estimators and contacts customers with parts disposition.
  • Responds to written correspondence by completing the appropriate standardized letter; modifies as needed.
  • Informs management and sales departments as required.
  • Enters customer approved sales orders into the computer system and establishes customer files.
  • Initiates approved work orders to planning, maintains status and tracks the progress of customer items in the repair process.
  • Provide status reports to the customer and management as appropriate.
  • Investigates and resolves a variety of problems.
  • Utilizes computerized systems to gather information, troubleshoot, track calls, enter or confirm sales.
  • May develop queries, generate and distribute reports.
  • Maintains appropriate records, files and documentation.
  • Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS: CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE Formal Education, Training and Work Experience: Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and seven (7) plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
